I’m Barry Wheller, and I assess students and employees to provide clear, evidence-based support that works in real settings.
With over 25 years’ experience across education, SEND and assessment, I’ve worked with schools, colleges, apprenticeships and employers. I started as a geography teacher, moved into a SENDCo role, and then into further education and workplace needs assessments.
Across all of those settings, I kept seeing the same issue. People weren’t struggling because they couldn’t do the work. They were struggling because the way things were set up didn’t fit how they worked.
That’s where I come in.
My role is simple: assess, identify what’s getting in the way, and provide clear, practical recommendations that can be put in place immediately.
Most of my work focuses on:
- Exam Access Arrangements — assessing students and providing clear scores and evidence aligned to JCQ requirements
- Learning Assessments — understanding how a student learns and what needs to change
- Workplace Needs Assessments — identifying barriers in a role and putting practical adjustments in place
Everything is focused on what will actually work day to day. Not overcomplicated reports. Not generic recommendations. Just clear outcomes that staff and organisations can use straight away.
